FIGURE IN A DARK LANDSCAPE

Video Art
6.36 mins

Artists: Laura Turner & Jospeh Florio

A figure drifts in and out of darkness. Gender precarious, intentions unknown, the subject moves like an organism, a figure devoid of the assumptions and distractions of the human body; of overt sexuality, political agenda or emotional expectation. And yet there rests the reflection of all of these concerns and more. – Andrew Christie (Curator of The Hidden Gesture)

THREE DIVERS

Video Art | Projection
6:48 mins

Role: Video Artist

During a pool training session, three divers practice breath-hold and freediving techniques. Most divers refer to their practice as spiritual – a form of meditation or mental medicine, relaxing the body so the mind remains calm. This video work invites the viewer underwater.

ROCK FORMATION | North Coast NSW

Video Art | Installation

The rocks, the sky, the incoming sea. Each one of these elements alone is impossible to take in all at once. How we perceive large scale natural objects and the awe that they inspire is the impetus for this work. A surreal landscape of water, weathering and transforming the land.

Artist: Laura Turner
Music: Tom Hogan

Selected Exhibitions:
Turning Points – Annandale Galleries (2024)
